21 uses for BOUNCE Dryer Sheets

Quick, run to Costco or Sam's Club and grab your enormous box of Bounce dryer sheets, because today I have 21 uses for those fresh-smelling dryer sheets.

1. All this time you've just been putting Bounce in the dryer! It will chase ants away when you lay a sheet near them. It also repels mice.

2. Put Bounce around foundation areas, or in trailers, or cars that are parked for a time. Will keep mice from getting in.

3. It takes the odor out of books and photo albums that don't get opened too often.

4. It repels mosquitoes! Tie a sheet of Bounce through a belt loop when outdoors during mosquito season.

5. Eliminate static electricity from your television (or computer) screen.

6. Since Bounce is designed to help eliminate static cling, wipe your television screen with a used sheet of Bounce to keep dust from resettling.

7. Dissolve soap scum from shower doors. Clean with a sheet of Bounce.

8. To freshen the air in your home, place an individual sheet of Bounce in a drawer or hang in the closet.

9. Put a Bounce sheet in vacuum cleaner.

10. Prevent thread from tangling. Run a threaded needle through a sheet of Bounce before beginning to sew .

11. Prevent musty suitcases. Place an individual sheet of Bounce inside empty luggage before storing.

12. To freshen the air in your car, place a sheet of Bounce under the front seat.

13. Clean baked-on foods from a cooking pan. Put a sheet in a pan, fill with water, let sit overnight, and sponge clean. The anti-static agent apparently weakens the bond between the food and the pan.

14. Eliminate odors in wastebaskets. Place a sheet of Bounce at the bottom of the wastebasket.

15. Collect cat hair. Rubbing the area with a sheet of Bounce will magnetically attract all the loose hairs.

16. Eliminate static electricity from Venetian blinds. Wipe the blinds with a sheet of Bounce to prevent dust from resettling.

17. Wipe up sawdust from drilling or sand papering. A used sheet of Bounce will collect sawdust like a tack cloth.

18. Eliminate odors in dirty laundry. Place an individual sheet of Bounce at the bottom of a laundry bag or hamper.

19. Deodorize shoes or sneakers. Place a sheet of Bounce in your shoes or sneakers overnight.

20. Golfers put a Bounce sheet in your back pocket to keep the bees away.

21. Put a Bounce sheet in your sleeping bag and tent before folding and storing them. It will keep them smelling fresh.

Thanks to my Mom for these great Bounce tips. She always has great MOM stuff to share.

Kids Can Help with Family Cleaning

by Trisha

Recently, while on a mother-daughter trip with my oldest daughter, she nicely informed me it was time that the two youngest members of our family take on a few more family chores. Her reasoning was that they were getting older and were very capable of doing more if we would teach them. I got to thinking about her suggestion and I realized I had not been teaching them as I had the older three. She was right – it was time to teach the next two in line.

As I mentioned in Tips for Delegating, I needed to start delegating more of the chores around the house, so I created a list of chores that our kids can do working alongside us as we begin the training process.

Go Clean But Go Green and WIN Scott Naturals Products

As a mom have you ever thought about how many times you scrub a tub, shower, toilet, sink or mop your kitchen floors, how many loads of laundry you do each day or even the number of times each day you wipe down your kitchen counters.

To accomplish those many chores and tasks we need cleaning products. However,  many of our products are filled with toxins and unsafe chemicals for our families.  Could our families actually switch to using more Eco friendly or natural products to both help the environment and provide a safer chemical free environment for our families.

I began to search around to find out if there were ways to make Eco cleaning changes in our families. Here are the best three Go Green tips I found when it comes to our household chores to help us Go Clean but Go Green.

1. Eco Cleaning Kit:  Care2 shows us how to create a NON-toxic cleaning kit.  Click here for full how to instructions.

2. Cleaning uses with Vinegar:
Vinegar is a natural deodorizier and disinfectant that makes a great all purpose cleaner.

-mix 1 part water to 1 part vinegar for an all purpose cleaner that you can use on your counter tops, stove, appliances and stone and brick surfaces ( Do not use on marble)

-To get rid of toilet bowl rings pour vinegar around the inside rim of the toilet bowl and scrub till clean
-Use vinegar diluted with water to mop your bathroom and kitchen floors.

3. Cleaning uses with Baking Soda:
Baking soda is great at dissolving dirt, mildew and grease.  It also works as a natural deodorizer

-Makes a great all purpose cleaner by mixing 4 tablespoons baking mix with 1 quart warm water poured in to a spray bottle shake up and you have the easy to make great all purpose cleaner that you can use on anything from the bathtub to the fridge

-The best know Baking soda use is to place a box in the refrigerator and freezer to absorb odor

-A safe way to deoderize your carpets is to sprinkle baking soda onto your carpet before vacuuming to eliminate food and pet odors.

-A great cleaning polish for metals and plastics.
