Pssst, here’s a shoppers’ secret if you’re a Secret Santa! Anyone can shop at this incredible store called Maukilo that sells the kind of toys you treasured when you were a kid – before technology, cords and chargers. It’s open 24/7 online. Poking around the website, parents and grandparents are continually amazed at the array of expertly made, heirloom-quality toys from the finest European and American craftsmen. Designed for babies to big kids, it’s like a global treasure chest of the finest wooden puzzles, games, books and playthings.

Big box stores just can’t offer the “wow” factor of a high-quality beautiful building block set, HABA’s newborn guardian angel or Baufix construction sets, a favorite in Europe. At Maukilo, toys are not only well made, but made to exceed safety standards. The toy store’s goal is to provide playthings that are made to last, so that any toy can withstand the test of time.

Once online, shoppers can browse for toys by theme: try pirates, bugs or dinosaurs. Or shop by category: pretend play, outdoor toys, and room décor. And bargain hunters will be delighted to see, yes, the outlet section where consumers can save 10-85% off – even on just-arrived merchandise! When in doubt, click on the 100 Bestsellers, already proven as the perfect toys by previous spoiling Aunties and Secret Santas!

Where did the name Maukilo come from? It’s in honor of a pussycat called Maui. Today Maukilo is owned by HABA, a renowned German toy company, and shares a warehouse with HABA in Skaneateles, New York. Because of this partnership, Maukilo is able to offer more than 1,500 HABA items, the widest selection of HABA products in the U.S. Maukilo rounds out its assortment with other wonderful brands, all of which meet the company’s motto: “Buy once. Play forever.”

The game we enjoyed from Haba is HABA’s Police Alarm! • Ages: 6+

Oh no! While the robber tries to crack the safes by rolling the dice, the police are busily moving from place to place trying to catch the crooks! Who will have the instincts and skillfully steer the magnetically driven police car around the board maze to the correct crime site? This magnetic game of skill includes cardboard and wooden pieces. For 2-4 zippy crook hunters.
