7 Simple Valentine Sweets and Treats

Moms, it doesn't get any easier then this to create super simple Valentine treats for your family.

Nestle Easy Giant Heart Shaped Cookie

This easy recipe will please all your loved ones!

Ingredients
Instructions

PREHEAT oven to 350° F. Grease 9-inch heart-shaped pan.

PLACE whole bar of dough in prepared pan. Allow to soften for 5 to 10 minutes. Using fingertips, pat dough gently to cover bottom.

BAKE for 17 to 19 minutes or until golden brown. Cool in pan on wire rack for 10 minutes; remove to wire rack to cool completely.

MICROWAVE morsels in small, microwave-safe bowl on HIGH (100%) power for 45 seconds; stir. Microwave at additional 10-second intervals, stirring until smooth. Spread over cookie to within 1-inch of edge.

Simple Valentine Cupcakes

Ingredients:
1 Box white cupcake mix
1 can Pink frosting ( funfetti)
Red Hot Candies
Mini Candy Canes

Instructions:

1. Prepare and bake cupcakes according to package.

2. Frost cupcakes once they are cooled.

3. Decorate cupcakes

* Candy Cane hearts: Unwrap mini candy canes and create a heart on top of the frosted cupcake by placing them hook to hook and bottom to bottom ( tail to tail). You can also first place your heart candy canes on parchment paper and bake at 350 for 2 to 4 minutes then pinch ends together. ( i go simple and do them unbaked)

* XO XO XO's : Use the red hots to create an X or O on top of your cupcakes. Do half X's and half O's.



Valentine Chex Mix

Red, white and pink make a lovely Chex® mix, especially when it's ready in just 30 minutes!

Prep Time: 10 min
Total Time: 25 min
Makes: 22 servings (1/2 cup each)

9 cups Rice Chex® cereal
1 cup white vanilla baking chips
1/2 cup peanut butter
1/4 cup butter or margarine
3/4 cup powdered sugar
1/2 cup red, white and pink candy-coated chocolate candies
1/4 cup red or pink jimmies sprinkles

1. In large bowl, place cereal. In small microwavable bowl, microwave baking chips, peanut butter and butter uncovered on High 1 minute to 1 minute 30 seconds, stirring every 30 seconds, until melted and smooth. Pour peanut butter mixture over cereal, stirring until evenly coated.

2. Place 1/2 of the cereal mixture in 1-gallon food-storage plastic bag. Add powdered sugar. Seal bag; shake until well coated. Spread on waxed paper or foil to cool, about 15 minutes.

3. Meanwhile, stir candies and sprinkles into remaining cereal mixture. Spread on waxed paper or foil to cool, about 15 minutes.

4. In serving bowl, mix both cereal mixtures. Store in airtight container.

Special Touch: Look for decorated cellophane bags in craft or paper goods stores. Fill with this extra-special mix and tie with festive ribbons for a Valentine gift.




Valentine Pretzel Treats

Ingredients

* Small pretzels
* Hershey's Kiss or Hershey's Hug
* Valentine M&M's candy

Instructions

1.Heat the oven to 200F. Set a number of bite-size, pretzels (one for each treat) in a single layer on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper, then top each pretzel with an unwrapped Hershey's Kiss or Hershey's Hug.

2.Bake for 5 minutes (the white chocolate will melt more quickly), until the chocolates feel soft when touched with a wooden spoon. Remove the cookie sheet from the oven and quickly press a Valentine M&M's candy into the center of each Kiss.

3. Allow the treats to cool for a few minutes, then place them in the refrigerator to set, about 10 minutes. Place handfuls of the candies in clear plastic Valentine bags and tie with matching ribbons.
Huggable Heart Cookie Cups : from Nestle
Drizzled with melted white morsels and topped with a gummy heart, these cookie cups are the perfect family treat.
Preparation Time: 15 min
Cooking Time: 16 min
Cooling Time: 20 min

Servings: 24

Ingredients:
  • 1 package (16.5 ounces) NESTLÉ® TOLL HOUSE® Refrigerated Sugar Cookie Bar Dough
  • 48 WONKA SweeTARTS Gummy Hearts
  • 1 cup (6 ounces) NESTLÉ® TOLL HOUSE® Premier White Morsels
Instructions:
PREHEAT oven to 325º F. Line 24 mini-muffin cups with paper liners. Place one square of dough into each lined cup, pressing in to make a well.

BAKE for 15 minutes or until cookie is golden. Cool completely in pan on wire rack. With tip of knife, remove cookie cups from muffin pan.

PLACE morsels in small, heavy-duty plastic bag. Microwave on MEDIUM-HIGH (70%) power for 1 minute. Gently massage morsels until completely melted. Snip tiny corner from bag; drizzle melted morsels over cookies. Top each with 2 Gummy Hearts.

Chocolate Chip Cookie/Chocolate Heart Variation: Use chocolate chip cookie dough in place of sugar dough. Bake at 350° F for 12 to 15 minutes. After cooling, place one NESTLÉ CRUNCH or NESTLÉ BUTTERFINGER Chocolate Heart in each cup. Proceed with drizzle

* Hershey's Kiss or Hershey's Hug
* Valentine M&M's candy

Valentine Conversation Brownies

Ingredients
1 box brownie mix ( ingredients on box as well)
1 can pre-made chocolate frosting
3 tbs powdered sugar
1 bag Large Size sweetheart candy hearts

Directions
1. Prepare and bake brownies using a 13x9 inch pan as directed on box.

2. Once brownies have cooled - use a heart cookie cutter to cut out heart shaped brownies.

3. Sprinkle heart shapes with powdered sugar

4. Adhere sweetheart candies to the middle of each heart using the chocolate frosting as glue.
