WIN - Welcome to Waycool School book

As a new day approaches, a bright sun starts to rise. Children ask questions like how, where and why.

The opening lines of Welcome to Waycool School, written by innovative author Michael G. Frino, capture the wonder and excitement experienced by children everywhere as they awake on their first day of school. Inspired by his own young daughters’ love of reading and learning, Frino takes readers on an adventure through a make-believe world where “learning is fun and lessons are learned by everyone!”

The author’s first children’s book follows the main character, “Jackson Myside” as he takes new students around his school and introduces them to his teachers. At first glance, the teachers appear to have quite peculiar names, but as Jackson Myside explains, each name is a play on words based on the teacher’s subject matter. (For example, students take spelling with “Mrs. Elle M. Ennopi” and mathematics with “Mr. Matthew Haftalurn”.)

The book Welcome to Waycool School is geared towards children ages 4-9 and is the first book in a series of 6 books. Currently, a pilot and show bible is under development and will be presented at Kid Screen Summit 2011 in New York. The website is interactive and has activity pages and coloring pages for children and parents.
