Night Before Christmas Kit

The excitement is escalating in my home as I am sure it is across the world in many homes as we count down the hours till Santa arrives. A fun way to get your kids through the night of waiting is to create a Night Before Christmas Kit.

Creating a Night before Christmas kit may also be the beginning of a new annual tradition of allowing the kids to open one gift on Christmas eve.

To create your families kit first you will need either a box or gift bag - this can be a one time use or one you purchase that is used year after year by refilling it.

Now it is time to fill your Night before Christmas kit, Some ideas are:

Santa's Cookie plate and Milk Glass ( this can be the same one you use each year).

Hot Chocolate mugs along with instant hot chocolate.

The Christmas story in book form or printed out on nice paper (scroll look).

Santa's magic KEY - if you don't have a chimney in your home purchase a special key and hang it on your front door for Santa to use ( not a real house key).

Movie - choose a new one or one that has become a tradition that you only watch on Christmas eve.

Game - purchase a new game that the entire family can participate in and play on Christmas eve or place a pack of cards and instructions to a new card game you find on the internet.

Treats - place a few new special treats in the package to eat while watching a movie or playing a game.

Crafts - place a simple craft project in the package you can pick these up inexpensively at the Dollar stores, Wal-mart or Target.

Nativity set - Make a tradition of setting up the nativity set on Christmas eve while telling the Christmas story.
