Colossians 1:28-29 states
So we tell others about Christ, warning everyone and teaching everyone with all the wisdom God has given us. We want to present them to God, perfect in their relationship to Christ. That's why I work and struggle so hard, depending on Christs mighty power that works within me.This verse Paul is calling us to action. We are to work with one another to present everyone mature in Christ. The word perfect means to mature or complete. Jesus completes us.
As a mom, writer, Lifegroup leader and member of the church it is my responsibility to come along side my husband, children, readers, mommies and my church family to see them mature, perfect and complete their christian walk.
So How do we mature in Christ?
I believe if we stick to the basics we can perfect our christian walk. What is great about the basics is that they apply whether you are a new christian beginning your walk or have been a christian for many years.
7 Commitments in Maturity
We can even pray for maturity in Christ. In Ephesians 3:14-21 Paul prays a prayer to the church oat Ephesus in approximately 60 A.D. but this prayer is just as effective for all of us today. We all can ask Jesus to fill every part of our lives to it's fullest so that we may be complete. 1. Prayer
Philippians 4:6 tells us to pray about everything. Tell God what you need and thank Him for all He has done.

Let us commit ourselves to talking with God daily!
2. Read God's Word
2 Timothy 3:16 states that all scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right.
The Bible is the Christians instruction guide.
Let us commit ourselves to reading the Bible daily!
3. Obey His word
Luke 6:46-48 teaches us that we must obey. Jesus says we should go to Him, listen to His words, and follow what He says. just as a person building a home needs to dig deep and lay the foundation on the rock, so that it may stand firm through the years

Let us commit to showing our love for Jesus by doing what He says!
4. Continue to receive forgiveness
Romans 3:23 tells us that everyone has sinned and that we al fall short of God's glorious standard.

Let us commit to confessing our sins promptly to Jesus so that He will forgive us!
5. Attend Church regularly.
Hebrews 10:25 reminds us to not neglect our meeting together but to encourage one another. Just as we recently learned we cannot do this alone. We need the church to help us mature in Christ, and they need us too.

In our home if we are in town on Sunday we are in Church.

6. Memorize Scripture
Ephesians 6:17 tells us to take the sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God.
When we memorize scripture we always have it with us. This scripture can comfort us in the time of need and give us strength in the times of temptation.

7. Share God's love
Romans 1:16 tells us not to be ashamed of the Good News of Jesus.
Think of someone who needs to know Jesus. Pray for the, ask others to pray for them and ask God to show you how to share your faith with that person.

Remember your relationship with Jesus is long-term. Maturing in Christ is a life time commitment.
His word is a lamp to guide my feet and a light for my path. PSALMS119:105
