Tips and Tricks For The Tweens Roaming Our Halls From Tween Academy

 Several years ago a new word describing another community of children became part of our vocabulary "TWEENS" Thefreedictionary.com defines a Tween as

tween  (twn) n.

A child between middle childhood and adolescence, usually between 8 and 12 years old.

 Do you have Tweens roaming the halls in your house - I have two of them and there are days they still seem so young and days they seem so old. They are trying to find who they are and where they fit in- Is it ok to still play with action figures and Legos? do I still have play dates or are they now called hang outs? Is it still cool to wear my cookie monster hat?

Tweens are finding there way to being teenagers yet caught between still wanting to be kids and wanting to to be treated as mini teens. As a parent you may be asking yourself  How do we communicate with them?  Their bodies are changing how do I talk to them about it? Are there really mean girls in my Tweens school?  Why does my tween seem so scattered brained? and many other questions about your Tweens.  Last week I participated in moderating one of the chats during the Tween Academy sponsored by Unilever held at The Motherhood website along with several other mom bloggers.  They had four different chats with author Rosalind Wiseman, parenting expert and New York Times bestselling author of Queen Bees and Wannabes  the chats were informative and full of great tips and tricks for us parents who have Tween roaming our halls. I left the conversation feeling equipped and ready to face my Tween journey.
