I get ready for summer by freezing milk jugs full of water all winter to use in the coolers in the summer. It keeps things colder for longer and there is always a nice clean cold drink if you need it.

I subscribe! My family gets 'outdoor ready' every year just before Memorial Day. We have a party on that weekend every year, so we spend the week or two before that clearing the yard, digging the firepit, stocking up on mosquito spray and citronella candles and pulling out tents and camp chairs, etc. It's a lot of work, but then it's done for the summer!
