Effectively Praying Moms

by: Jeanie Cullip

We have a responsibility and privilege of praying for our kids. Moms prayers make a difference. Abraham Lincoln once said, "I remember my mothers prayers and they have clung to me all my life."

Do you pray for your children, but still worry about them? How can we pray effectively? What kind of prayers are ones that can make a difference for our kids?

1 John 5:14-15 This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us—whatever we ask—we know that we have what we asked of him.

So when we pray for our children for anything according to His word, then we know H hears us, and if we know that He hears us we know that we have the thing we have asked for Him.

Effective prayer begins with knowing what we are praying about is God's will. The Bible is full of his promises, these promises are His will for us. These are all things He wants to fulfill in our lives and in our children. In prayer, we can bring his promises to Him and make them our requests.

Here are
10 promises that we can take to Him on behalf of our children. I use them as a guideline in praying for my children.

1.Pray for your child to know Jesus Christ.

John 3:16 & Acts 2:38-39

2. Pray for your child to be filled with God's word.

3. Pray that your child would be led by the Spirit.

4. Pray for your child to Live by Faith.

  3. Yes, I pray for my children, esp the boys.

They drive and everytime I hear the whistle go off at the fire department and they aren't home, I worry.

    Great post!
