This weeks SWEET of the WEEK

MallowDrama offers highly personalized service and enjoys working with clients to design one-of-a-kind creations for their events. In addition, MallowDrama serves its clients through its commitment to the environment and to its community. Mary and David have looked at every aspect of the business to implement practices that minimize its impact on the environment – from recycling and composting to selection of ingredients and supplies to minimizing packaging, and much more. MallowDrama supports its community through frequent donations and fundraisers. [Additional details about MallowDrama’s environmental practices and community involvement are available on request.]

About MallowDrama:
Mary and David Supley Foxworth, the owners, bakers, and creative team behind MallowDrama, met while they were in high school, almost twenty years ago. They stayed friends through college and, after they had moved into their own apartments, discovered a shared enjoyment for entertaining. The pair started throwing parties together. With each party, the food grew more and more elaborate and, as Mary and David spent more time together in the kitchen, they fell in love with cooking and baking and with each other.

The new couple decided to explore their passion for baking, taking some classes at a local cooking school, reading cookbooks, experimenting with their own techniques and styles, and making countless cakes and other treats for family and friends. Art was a lifelong avocation for David, and he started to work with new, edible media. Mary, in the meantime, put her hobby to the test, entering cakes into a local competition (winning first place and best in show awards) and working as a personal chef. While she enjoyed working with food, she missed working with David.

In 2004, Mary and David were married. That same year, they started MallowDrama, specializing in cakes, cupcakes, and chocolate truffles for weddings and social, corporate, and community events. Mary and David work together in the kitchen to design and produce desserts with a dramatic flair – wedding, groom’s, and special occasion cakes that are creative, innovative, and memorable. David’s background in art enables MallowDrama to offer intricate hand-painted details, edible sculptures, and carved, three-dimensional cakes, while Mary focuses on more traditional decorating techniques.

While they focus on artistry in the design and appearance of their cakes, Mary and David know that cakes are meant to be eaten and must taste as good as they look. MallowDrama uses high-quality ingredients and is always working to expand their repertoire of creative flavors. All of MallowDrama’s products are made fresh to order and without preservatives. Mary and David use only organic eggs, butter, milk, cream, and sugar, and strive for all other ingredients as possible to be locally sourced and/or organic. Vegan, gluten-free, and 100 percent organic cakes and truffles are available upon request.
