Thrifty Tuesday Finds

This weeks Thrifty Tuesday Finds:

Stretching the Mighty Dollar with two of My Money saving Favorites:

Take 5 – While shopping we often see things that appeal to us, look yummy to eat or think we HAVE to have it now. Then we get to the check out counter and realize how many unneeded items we are buying and buyers remorse sets in when we see our total bill of sale.

A Simple tip to prevent unneeded purchases - Whenever you choose an item to buy or have placed one in your shopping cart Take 5 seconds and ask yourself do I NEED this item, why a I buying it or can I live life without it? If you have realized you are NOT in immediate need of this item, put it back , remind yourself of the money you have now saved by taking 5.

2nd Time around shopping – Before you head out to make a NEW purchase of a needed item, stop and ask yourself can I purchase this item used?

There are numerous places that we can now purchase needed items at reduced prices by buying them gently used.

  1. One of my favorite places to find coupons, especially for beverages like Gatorade or iced tea singles, is at the gas station convenience stores. You can find the tear pads right on the beverage cooler doors usually. A recent example of this is 50 cents off Tiger Gatorade 32 oz bottles. I grabbed a few of these coupons from the gas station and then used them at a grocery store that doubled coupons when Gatorade was on sale for $1 each -- making each bottle free!
